  Manhattan's iconic skyline was dramatically illuminated on Wednesday night as a fierce thunderstorm unleashed a spectacular display of lightning.  The electrifying event saw bolts of lightning striking two of New York City’s most famous skyscrapers: the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center.  As the thunderstorm raged, dramatic photos and videos captured the moment when glowing white bolts sliced through the night sky, directly hitting the antennas atop both the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center.  These stunning visuals showcased the raw power of nature against the backdrop of the city that never sleeps. One particularly striking image, shared on the Empire State Building’s X page, shows the iconic structure bathed in red light as a bolt of lightning strikes its antenna.  The caption simply read, “OUCH,” capturing the awe and intensity of the moment.
